Lee Child
Child was born Jim Grant in 1954 in Coventry England, Child and his family moved to Birmingham when he was four years old.
Child entered Law School at the age of 20 in Sheffield, England. Upon graduation, he decided instead practicing law
he would get a job in commercial television and joined Granada TV in Manchester. Child worked at Granada TV for 18 years
when he was let go during a restructuring at 40 years old. He then decided to give writing a try.
He then wrote his first novel, Killing Floor with Jack Reacher as the main character. This was followed by many more novels
with Jack Reacher as the leading character. Child has also written numerous short stories, where most of them have
Jack Reacher as the main character. He as also written several non-fictions books. Child has focused
on Jack Reacher as the main character in his fiction and short stories.
